Wayne Albert Yontz, 89, of Norwalk, OH passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026 peacefully at his home after a brief illness, surrounded by his family.
Born on August 29, 1936, in Sandusky, OH the son of Albert and Helen (Warren) Yontz. He was a 1954 graduate of Sandusky High School. Wayne worked at Aramark for over 35 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, in Sandusky, the Sandusky Orioles Club Nest #279 and the Norwalk Eagles AERIE # 711.
He will be remembered by family and friends as a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Wayne loved going golfing, fishing, boating, bowling, playing pinochle and painting landscape pictures for family and friends.
He is survived by his four daughters, Sherry LaMarca (Scott), Brenda (Jack) Boone, Linda (Gregg) Heiden, and Susan (Brett) Droscha; 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandsons; and a brother, Dean (Doris) Yontz.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 66 years, Donna; his son, Steven; and three sisters, Marion Yontz, Geraldine Kaman and Janice Casanova.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 11 am until time of the funeral services at 1 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Rev. Michael C. Conklin officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, in Huron, OH.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to Cancer Services of Erie County, 505 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870.
